Learn everything you need in order to get started in archery! Duration: 2 hours per session Number of Sessions: 3 Location: 72 Pinner View Harrow HA14QF The beginners course is a total of 6 hours, split into 3 weekends of 2 hours with a maximum group size of 4 people. Dates for this course are: 8th February 15th February 22nd February Time: 10am-12pm What you can expect from this course is: - Safety briefing and outline of shooting rules - Learning to set up and take down a bow - Being able to shoot two different styles: barebow and olympic freestyle - Learn and partake in competition-style scoring - Run down of different bows (traditional, compound) and olympic style set-ups. - Progression in distance, starting at 10 yards and increasing distance up to the indoor competition distance of 20 yards. - Certificate of completion of course, meaning the archer is able to join an archery club and continue the sport if they choose (providing they follow safety rules and are able to shoot unaided). All sessions and courses are run by an Archery GB Qualified Coach and all equipment is provided. These courses are open to both adults and under 18s starting from the age of 11. PLEASE NOTE: Any participant under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to be present for the duration of the session, age of participants is limited to 11+. This venue is indoors for the first 2 sessions and then outdoors for the final session, so please dress accordingly for the weather on the final session. Archery course sessions will only be rescheduled if there is snow or extreme rain/wind conditions or due to unforseen circumstance. In the case of rescheduling, a partial refund will be made available if you are unable to attend a rescheduled session, otherwise sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable. For safety reasons we ask that – hair is tied back, no loose clothing worn from the waist up, no open-toed footwear and no facial piercings as any of these might get caught in the string. If you decide to do one of these courses please make sure you are able to attend all sessions otherwise you will not get a certificate at the end. You are not able to mix and match course dates.
